Raymond Bud Somerville
Bud Somerville is one of the best-known U.S. Curlers in North America and overseas. Skipped the team from Superior, Wisconsin Curling Club and was the first U.S. team to win the World Men’s Championship in 1965.
By 1988, he had skipped rinks to 14 state, 5 national, and 2 world men’s championships. Ship of the U.S. Curling Team in the 1988 Winter Olympics, Calgary, Canada, where curling was a demonstration sport. Born January 27, 1937 in Superior, Wisconsin, where he is active in many sports and civic affairs. Bud Somerville Started Curling at age 11 and by the age of 50, had won over 2,000 games. Bud’s curling is characterized by his calm, gentlemanly bearing on the ice.
