2022 MEN’S SCOTLAND TOUR TEAM ANNOUNCED

Every 10 years, the Royal Caledonian Curling Club (RCCC) invites a team of 20 U.S. male curlers to compete in Scotland for the treasured Herries-Maxwell Trophy. This competition takes form in the shape of a 23-day tour, characterized as competitive and ambassadorial, that travels to many Scottish curling facilities. In return, the United States Curling Association (USCA) hosts Scotland in alternate five-year periods.

The Herries-Maxwell Trophy has made its home on American soil for the last decade, as the United States has won the competition in 2012 (in Scotland) and again in 2017 (in the U.S.).

To fairly determine who gets the honor of competing to defend the title, the Scotland Tour Selection Committee reviews all nominations submitted via their online application process.

Following the closure of the application window (January 31, 2021), the Committee reviewed many honorable applicants, and selected the 2022 Scotland Tour Team based on the following criteria:

  • Service to curling; ambassadorial skills to represent the U.S.

  • Health and endurance to curl over 30 games in 21 days, plus participate in daily social events

  • Competency as a curler, along with adaptability to embrace team and position assignments

  • Male USA Curling member

On behalf of the USCA, the 2022 Men’s Scotland Tour Selection Committee is proud to announce the 2022 Men’s Scotland Tour team. The team consists of 20 men from across the United States who are all exceptional representatives of the sport of curling.
