2022 MIXED DOUBLES OLYMPIC QUALIFYING EVENT

On Dec. 5-9, the mixed doubles team of Chris Plys and Vicky Persinger will represent the United States at the Olympic Curling Qualifying Event in Leeuwarden, Netherlands.

After winning the 2022 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Mixed Doubles Curling in Eveleth, Minn., the mixed doubles team of Persinger/Plys punched their ticket to the Olympic Qualifier to compete for the United States’ berth to the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics in mixed doubles curling.

14 teams will meet in Leeuwarden to compete for the final two berths to complete the mixed doubles field in the Winter Olympics. The 14 competing teams will be divided into two pools of seven teams.

Pool A: Australia, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Russia, Spain, Turkey

Pool B: Estonia, Finland, Japan, Korey, Latvia, New Zealand, United States

The two pools will compete in a single round robin. The top ranked teams in each pool will receive a bye to the playoffs and the second and third ranked teams in each group will play in qualification games (A2 vs B3 and B2 vs A3).

The winners of the qualification games will play the group winners, where the winners of those game will qualify their country for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
