[EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, July 25, 2024]  The 2024 Men’s and Women’s National Champion teams—Team Shuster and Team Peterson—will be the nation’s representatives at the 2024 Pan Continental Curling Championships in Lacombe, Alberta, from October 27th to November 4th, competing to earn berths for the United States in the 2025 World Men’s and World Women’s Curling Championships.

World Curling runs the Pan Continental Curling Championships (PCCC), an event that qualifies five countries for world championship play. Teams in the field are from the Americas and the Pacific-Asia zones, and play is divided into A and B divisions, based on results at the 2023 PCCC.

Team Peterson competed at the 2024 World Women’s Championship in Sydney, NS, Canada, narrowly missing the playoffs after finishing round-robin play with a 6-6 record. In 2024-25, the Team Peterson lineup includes Tabitha Peterson, Cory Thiesse, Vicky Persinger, Tara Peterson, and Taylor Anderson.

Team Shuster (John Shuster, Chris Plys, Colin Hufman, Matt Hamilton, John Landsteiner) competed in Switzerland at the 2024 World Men’s Championship, ending round-robin play with a 7-5 record before losing in the quarter-finals.

“The international experience of Teams Peterson and Shuster will serve them well at this event,” said USA Curling Sport Performance Director Katie Baker. “The field at the PCCC gets stronger every year, but we know these dedicated athletes are ready for the challenge.”

The Gary Moe Auto Group Sportsplex in Lacombe will be the primary venue for the event, with some B Division play at the Lacombe Curling Club. More information about the championships is available here.
