NOMINATING PERIOD FOR USA CURLING ATHLETES’ ADVISORY COUNCIL POSITIONS NOW OPEN

[EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, April 25, 2024]—Nominations are now open for positions on the Athletes’ Advisory Council (AAC) of USA Curling. Terms on the AAC are for two years.

There are four openings total. In accordance with the AAC bylaws, selected candidates must meet the below criteria:

  • At least one female Para athlete

  • At least one male Para athlete

  • At least two female athletes total (including the Para athlete)

Interested individuals are invited to self-nominate by completing this online form. To be eligible to self-nominate or vote, athletes must meet the 10-Year Athlete definition outlined here.

The bio will be shared with voters and should include:

• 3-5 curling career highlights.

• A brief professional career description noting AAC relevant skills (1-4 sentences).

• Why the applicant would like to join the AAC (1-4 sentences).

• What the applicant is most interested in working on as part of the AAC (1-5 sentences).

The USA Curling Athletes' Advisory Council and representation on the Board of Directors are mechanisms granted to athletes by the Ted Stevens Olympic and Amateur Sports Act, designed to give athletes of USOPC sports a voice. Participation in the AAC is a right and a privilege that is reserved for the 10-year athletes of USA Curling.

Nominations will be accepted until end-of-day on May 10th. Elections will begin on May 15th and end on May 31st.
