Team Schroeder, Madison Curling Club

[EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, September 17th, 2024] The Everest North American Curling Club Championships kick off tonight with the Women’s game at 8 PM ET on the CBS Sports Network and on The Sports Network (TSN) in Canada.

Team Schroeder of the Madison Curling Club (Sidney Schroeder, Joanna Seboth, Celeste Taylor, Lois Buckingham) will represent the the United States, matched up against Canada’s Team Burgess (Abby Burgess, Brooke Tracy, Sam Crook, Hannah Williams and Katherine Stirling) from the Gage Golf & Curling Club, in a one-game, winner-take-all format.

The broadcast will feature Matt Hamilton from the gold medal-winning team at the 2018 Winter Olympics, along with Canada’s Jennifer Jones and veteran curling broadcaster Bryan Mudryk.

Viewers will find no shortage of exciting features, as the Everest team introduces elements that have been well-received in other sports but not used in curling.

Tomorrow night, again at 8 PM ET on the CBS Sports Network, Team Berg from the Fargo-Moorhead Curling Club (Ryan Berg, Tim Hodek, Josh Moore, Randy Askew, Ethan Sampson) will wear the Stars and Stripes, taking on Canada’s Team Sherrard from the Beaumont Curling Club (Dan Sherrard, Brandon Klassen, Kyle Reynolds, Shawn Donnelly, Cody Brown).

Ryan Berg, skip of Team USA at this event, noted, “"It means a lot to me to be able to wear the U.S. flag on my back. It has always been a dream of mine, so to have that come true is fun."

It’s exciting debut for curling on CBS Sports, and USA Curling is pleased to be supporting the Everest team at their event. USA Curling Chief Ice Technician Shawn Olesen, joined by Frank Mogavero and Lauren Rich, have been on-site to produce championship-quality ice. Viewers will also get a close look at Rock Creek Curling, one of the premier facilities for the sport in the country, and a regular host of other USA Curling events. In addition to the 2025 U18 Nationals, Rock Creek will also be the host of the 2025 Mixed Doubles Olympic Trials this February.
