[EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, March 13th, 2024] Team Peterson is gearing up to return to the world stage at the 2024 World Women’s Curling Championship in Sydney, Nova Scotia, to represent Team USA. The competition will run from March 16-24.

Having secured their third national title in February, Team Peterson (Tabitha Peterson, Cory Thiesse, Tara Peterson, Becca Hamilton, Vicky Persinger) earned the coveted spot to compete in the world championships.

“Our team is thrilled to represent the U.S. at this year’s world championship,” said Tabitha Peterson. “This is what we train for all season, so we can’t wait to get on the ice and have some great games.”

The team has a history of success on the global stage, notably taking the bronze medal at the 2021 world championships—an achievement marking the first women’s world medal in 15 years. With lead Aileen Geving retiring, Cory Thiesse, a world champion in mixed doubles, joined the lineup in 2023.

“We are very excited to see Team Peterson return to the women’s world championship,” said Katie Baker, USA Curling Sporting Director. “These athletes are all incredibly talented as individuals with their own accolades, but their consistency, communication and dedication as a team sets them apart.”

Team Peterson will be looking to improve on their 2023 world championship result where they narrowly missed the cut to advance to playoffs from round robin play, finishing with a 6-6 record.

Overall, Team USA has seven podium finishes at the women’s world championship, including one world title in 2003.
