STREAMING COVERAGE OF 2024 CLUB, MIXED FOURS, AND FIVE-AND-UNDER NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
[EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, April 2nd, 2024] — USA Curling, with our partners at Curling Stadium, currently produces full webstream coverage of three national championships—every sheet of Women’s & Men’s Nationals, Mixed Doubles Nationals, and Junior Men’s and Women’s Nationals, with one feature game during each draw.
Long-term, the organization hopes to provide high-level streaming from every one of our 17 national championships. But producing three events is already a significant investment, and USA Curling does not currently have the resources to expand this level of coverage.
When clubs have a streaming setup at their facility, we are thrilled to utilize and promote it. Looking ahead to national championships still on the calendar, the curling community can look forward to webcast coverage of the Men’s and Women’s Club Nationals at the Fargo-Moorhead Curling Club (Fargo-Moorhead has a Curling Stadium system in its facility—remember that Member Clubs enjoy savings on Curling Stadium installs), the Mixed Fours Nationals at the Denver Curling Club (DCC has their own streaming setup in their facility), and the Five-and-Under Nationals at the Chaska Curling Center. While Chaska does not have a streaming system in the buildling, generous donors are allowing us to provide coverage of one game per draw with some look-ins of other games.
USA Curling is sharing this information related to streaming and the remaining championships to ensure that the reality matches expectations of the curling community. Again, the long-term goal is to provide as much high-level streaming as possible—advances in technology will help accomplish that but quality production requires talented people as well. If you are interested in supporting our webstreaming efforts, you can donate to the USA Curling Foundation and direct your funds to Operational Excellence, noting that you want it used it to offset costs for these productions.
We truly appreciate all who have donated, and look forward to expanding our coverage of national championships with high-quality productions. The team at Curling Stadium continues to improve their offering, and it has been great to provide viewers with the option to watch all sheets at Men’s & Women’s Nationals, Mixed Doubles Nationals, and Junior Men’s & Women’s Nationals.
