Becky Duffy Photography

The annual USA Curling Members’ Meeting was held on October 13th, 2023 in Bloomington, MN. Attendance was both in-person and online.

A key agenda item was the vote on the proposed amendments to the USA Curling bylaws that reflect changes to the membership model. The vote on the bylaw amendments passed without dissent.

There were also votes to ratify New Member Clubs and new members to the Board of Directors. Both passed without dissent.

The new Member Clubs of USA Curling are Fergus Falls Area Curling, Mower County Curling Club, Northstar Curling Club, Rhinelander Curling, and Talkeetna Curling.

The new Directors of USA Curling are Phil Shyrock and Brian Kopp. The Recognized Regional Associations that Shyrock will represent are the Pacific Northwest Curling Association (PNWCA), Mountain and Pacific Curling Association (MOPAC), and Alaska. Kopp will represent Wisconsin.

The approval of the bylaw amendments allows for full implementation of the new membership model. If you or your club have any questions related to the new model, please send a message to memberservices@usacurling.org or contact us directly by emailing Manager, Member Services, Lauren Rich or CEO, Dean Gemmell.

The Members’ Meeting agenda also included updates from USA Curling Board Chair Bret Jackson and USA Curling CEO Dean Gemmell. A video recording of the Members’ Meeting will be made available on the USA Curling YouTube channel.

Thanks to USA Curling Secretary Dick Dawson, USA Curling Treasurer Alexis Boccanfuso, and Parliamentarian Todd Ellis for their assistance before and during the Members’ Meeting.
