FIELD SET FOR 2022 U.S. OLYMPIC TRIALS FOR MIXED DOUBLES CURLING

Alex Leichter, Jamie Sinclair, Monica Walker, and Rich Ruohonen following their qualifications to the 2022 U.S. Olympic Trials for Mixed Doubles Curling.

On Sept. 17-20, 2021, Four Seasons Curling Club hosted the second of two Mixed Doubles Olympic Trials Qualification events.

The event welcomed 13 registered teams who competed for the final two spots in the 2022 U.S. Olympic Trials for Mixed Doubles Curling.

As stated in the Qualification Procedures, the Trials Qualifying Series qualified three teams total between the two events.

  • The winner of the first qualification event

  • The winner of the second qualification event

  • The team with the most WCF World Team Ranking points combined in the two events

Based on these procedures, Team Sinclair/Ruohonen (Jamie Sinclair and Rich Ruohonen) secured their berth to the 2022 Trials by winning the second Mixed Doubles Olympic Trials Qualification event.

Additionally, Team Walker/Leichter (Monica Walker and Alex Leichter) secured their berth to the 2022 Trials by earning the most WCF World Team Ranking points combined in the two events.

The qualification of Teams Sinclair/Ruohonen and Walker/Leichter completes the field of the 10 mixed doubles teams that will be competing at the 2022 U.S. Olympic Trials for Mixed Doubles Curling on Oct. 26-31, 2021 in Eveleth, Minn.

  7. Jenna Burchesky/Ben Richardson (2021 semi-finalists)

  8. Becca Hamilton/Matt Hamilton (Mixed Doubles Qualifying Series #1 - Champions)

  9. Jamie Sinclair/Rich Ruohonen (Mixed Doubles Qualifying Series #2 - Champions)

  10. Monica Walker/Alex Leichter (Most WCF World Team Ranking points combined in the two Series events)
