[EAGAN, MN, March 4th, 2024] USA Curling is pleased to announce that the Chaska Curling Center in Chaska, MN, has agreed to host the Mixed Doubles Pre-Trials event from August 8th through 11th.

Four teams from the Pre-Trials will qualify for the 2025 Mixed Doubles Olympic Trials, the event that will determine the team that represents the United States at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

There will be a minimum of eight teams in the field. Teams can qualify for the Pre-Trials event the following ways:

  • Have an athlete ranked in the Top 50 of the World Curling Men’s/Women’s Team Rankings as of May 1st, 2024

  • Be ranked in the Top 75 of the World Curling Mixed Doubles Team Ranking as of May 1st, 2024 (Year-to-Date)

  • Finished in the top half of the field at the 2024 Mixed Doubles National Championship. The top half of the field is considered the record of the top four teams and ties across both Pools A and B.

Any teams that meet the criteria will earn a berth in the Pre-Trials event. There is no cap on the field size, but if this criteria does not produce a field of at least eight teams, additional berths will be awarded according to the World Curling Mixed Doubles Team Ranking as of May 1, 2024 (Year-to-Date). Additional information from a previous news release can be found here.

The 2026 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Mixed Doubles will have a field of ten teams and take place in late February/early March 2025. Exact dates and location will be announced shortly. The event schedule will be posted at least 60 days in advance on the USA Curling website. The winning team will represent Team USA at the 2025 Mixed Doubles World Championships as well as the 2026 Olympic Games.*

*If Team USA is not qualified for the Olympic Games after the 2025 Mixed Doubles World Championships, this team will also represent Team USA at the Olympic Qualification Event in Autumn 2025.
