John L. WIlliamson
John, who took up ice making after retiring as a veterinarian, has curled since 1966. Driven by scientific curiosity, John learned everything he could about the reproduction of great curling ice in clubs and arenas. John’s work with local ice makers, including fielding hundreds of calls for advice served to significantly improve the standard of ice and stones in USCA clubs, to the benefit of both recreation and competitive curlers.
John skipped his team to the 1991 U.S. Senior National Championship, and on the 1992 USCA Scots Tour. He used the Clintonville Curling Club as his ice making “lab” treating his fellow members to superb club ice on a daily basis. John served as president of his club and of the Wisconsin State Curling Association.
