COVERAGE UPDATE: OLYMPIC QUALIFICATION EVENT
From Dec. 5-9, Vicky Persinger and Chris Plys are competing in Leeuwarden, Netherlands, to earn a berth to the 2022 Olympic Games in mixed doubles curling.
Initially, coverage of every USA game would be broadcasted or streamed by NBC. However, due to an unforeseen sponsorship conflict with the local organizing committee in Leeuwarden, the remainder of coverage will now only be available through the World Curling Federation streaming platform, Recast.
Additionally, live scoring can be found on World Curling’s website.
The United States currently has a 3-0 record with three games of pool play remaining.
The top ranked teams in each pool will receive a bye to the playoffs and the second and third ranked teams in each group will play in qualification games (A2 vs B3 and B2 vs A3).
The winners of the qualification games will play the group winners, where the winners of those game will qualify their country for the 2022 Olympic Games.
The United States’ next game is scheduled for tomorrow at 6:30am (ET) against Latvia.
USA Curling is sponsored by Columbia Sportswear, Toyota, Twin Cities Orthopedics, Training HAUS, Brakebush, ISS (Ice, Sports & Solar), and Sitrin, and is partnered with IHG, Rock Solid Productions Inc., Laurie Artiss Ltd. – The Pin People, and United Airlines.
