USA CURLING RELEASES REPORTING COMPLETED BY INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATORS
December 15, 2022.
Following the release of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and National Women’s Soccer League Players Association (NWSLPA) Joint Report, the USA Curling Board of Directors is releasing the results of its investigations into the actions of Jeff Plush during his time as the NWSL Commissioner. At the time the work was commissioned, Plush was the CEO of USA Curling.
The USA Curling Board of Directors commends the courageous NWSL players who came forward to share their stories and advocate for vital, necessary change. Due to legal and ethical concerns, USA Curling could not release its own reports until the work of the NWSL and the NWSLPA investigators was completed. The two reports that were conducted on behalf of USA Curling are now being shared—the investigation completed by the Gray Investigative Group in November of 2021, and the report prepared by Fathom Inc., shared with the Board in October of 2022.
“It was important to engage a third-party to do this work, but the quality of these reports does not rise to the level that the Board and the curling community deserved,” noted USA Curling Board Chair Bret Jackson. “As a result, we will conduct an audit of our internal process, and learn how we can be better in the future.”
