MIXED DOUBLES NATIONALS TICKETS NOW AVAILABLE
[EAGAN, MN, January 19, 2024] — The Traverse City Curling Club will host our country’s best Mixed Doubles teams, all vying to be Team USA at the 2024 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships in Sweden and earn highly coveted spots in the 2025 Olympic Team Trials.
While Kalamazoo, Detroit, and Midland have hosted USA Curling events in the past, this is the first time Traverse City will be host a national championship. It’s a terrific opportunity to see this popular Olympic sport live and enjoy all the amenities this facility—opened just last year—offers.
The field is headlined by defending national and 2024 World Mixed Doubles Champions Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin, who will be looking to put their stamp on this event and capture another title. They’ll be tested by a field that includes last year’s silver medalists, Sarah Anderson and Andrew Stopera, along with 2024 bronze winners Ben Richardson and Taylor Anderson. Olympians in the field include Matt Hamilton and Becca Hamilton, Vicky Persinger, John Shuster, and Jason Smith.
Richardson is one of many returning competitors hoping to improve on last year’s results.
“We felt great about our performance last year, and we’re eager to build on that momentum in Traverse City. It’s exciting to play in a brand-new facility, and I’m confident the community will enjoy the elite-level curling on the ice.”
The 16-team field will be divided into two pools of eight, with the top three in each pool advancing to the single-elimination playoff round. The top finisher in each pool will advance directly to the semi-finals. Berths in the 2025 Mixed Doubles Olympic Team Trials will be awarded to the top three finishers at this event.
Throughout the qualifying rounds, there will be four games underway during each session. During the playoffs, there are two games per session.
Tickets are now available—single session, Full Event and Weekend Passes are being offered. Private event packages are available—to request more information, email Kate Sterken at kates@tccurling.org.
