PLAYOFFS SET AT 2023 USA CURLING MEN’S AND WOMEN’S NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Casper and Shuster finish First and Second, Dunnam and Dropkin in Third and Fourth in the Men’s Championship; Peterson finishes in First, Strouse in Second, Anderson in Third, and Bear in Fourth in the Women’s Championship

With the eight-team preliminary round complete, the playoff field is set at the 2023 USA Curling Men’s and Women’s National Championships.

The USA Curling National Championships use a Page Playoff format. First Place plays Second Place in the 1-2 Game, while Third Place plays Fourth Place in the 3-4 Game. The winner of the 1-2 Game advances to the final, while the loser plays the winner of the 3-4 Game in the semi-final. The loser of the 3-4 Game is eliminated from the championship.

In the Men’s Championship, Team Casper finished alone in first place with a 6-1 record. Team Shuster and Team Dunnam completed the round-robin with identical 5-2 records—Shuster earns the #2 spot based on his win in the round-robin over Dunnam and will play in the 1-2 Game against Casper. Dunnam will face Dropkin in the 3-4 Game.

In the Women’s Championship, Team Peterson finished with a perfect 7-0 record, while Team Strouse was at 6-1—Peterson and Strouse will face off in the 1-2 Game. Team Anderson wrapped up the round-robin at 5-2 to finish just ahead of fourth-place Team Bear (4-3). Anderson and Bear will play in the 3-4 Game with a spot in the semi-final on the line.
