CIRCLE CITY TO HOST SENIOR WOMEN’S NATIONALS, HEATHER TO HOST SENIOR MEN’S
[EAGAN, MN, October 16, 2023] — USA Curling is thrilled to announce the host clubs for the Senior Men’s and Senior Women’s National Championships.
The 2024 Senior Men’s Nationals is now scheduled for February 6-11 at the Heather Curling Club in Mapleton, MN. The 2024 Senior Women’s Nationals will run from February 19-25 at the Circle City Curling Club in Anderson, Indiana, a suburb of Indianapolis.
The Senior Women’s and Senior Men’s Nationals are open-entry events without a qualification process. As a result, the start dates may be adjusted depending on the number of entries for each event.
Registration information will be released shortly. Since these events do not have a set number of teams, registration will also close earlier than other championships to ensure the format and draw can be established well in advance of the event and make travel planning easier.
Open to curlers 50 years of age and older, Senior Nationals crown champions who will go on to represent the United States at the 2024 World Senior Curling Championships in Oestersund, Sweden, from April 20-27.
“Since the number of teams is not pre-determined, splitting the Men’s and Women’s makes sense this year and allows us to bring national championships to clubs that are not large enough to host a combined event,” remarked USA Curling CEO Dean Gemmell. “We’re grateful to both Member Clubs—Heather and Circle City— for their willingness to take on these championships. I’m confident both locations will provide a great experience for competitors and be terrific partners for USA Curling.”
The Circle City Curling Club opened their dedicated ice facility in December of 2022. Since then, they have significantly increased membership and look forward to generating even more curling interest in the Indianapolis area through the Senior Women’s National Championship.
“Circle City is honored to have been chosen by USA Curling to host this national championship,” noted CCCC President Jim Puckering. “We look forward to showcasing our brand new dedicated facility, and to celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of athletes from across the country. We hope that you will be able to join us in February for this event and to enjoy our Hoosier hospitality!"
