TEAM SINCLAIR CLIMBS STANDINGS AT 2022 U.S. OLYMPIC TEAM TRIALS
After women’s draw six of the 2022 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, the women’s standings tighten as Team Sinclair picked up their third win of the tournament.
Team Sinclair started the week with what they would consider a less than ideal start, losing both games on the opening day of the event.
“It was definitely a slow start to the week, starting with two losses,” said Jamie Sinclair. “But we got our feet under us, got comfortable with the ice, and started making some shots.”
Following Team Sinclair’s 0-2 start, the Team has won three of the last four games, suffering their only loss to the team skipped by Tabitha Peterson before defeating Team Rhyme on Monday afternoon and Team Christensen in Tuesday morning’s session.
“The score in that game didn’t necessarily reflect the (close) game. I thought it was good game by both teams,” said Sinclair. “We just got one or two more shots here or there. It was a great game, great team to play against, and definitely always feels good to get a win.”
While Jamie Sinclair (skip) and Monica (third) have experienced the marathon of an Olympic Trials before, they’ve welcomed the young talent of Elizabeth Cousins (lead) and Cora Farrell (second) to their lineup and are enjoying the journey of finding success through the growth they’re experiencing as a team.
"It's actually crazy throughout the process of this team coming together how much we've learned, grown, and just how much they have soaked up all the knowledge that we've tried to give,” added Sinclair. “It's been an incredible journey as a team. They have come a long way and really helped us, too. It's been quite the journey and a lot of fun."
The 10-3 victory in eight ends over Team Christensen evened Team Sinclair’s record at 3-3 to keep the Team in the thick of the playoff hunt.
“We're just taking it one game at a time. We are focusing on ourselves and trying to get better with every game,” added Sinclair. “Hopefully, in the long run, that turns into wins and playing in the finals this weekend.”
