USA Curling has launched regular online educational sessions to discuss issues related to club operations and ice quality in our member clubs. Sessions will cover Club Operations and Ice Tech topics. Information about upcoming sessions, and recordings of previous sessions can be found below.

Arena to Dedicated Ice Panel Discussion
Part 1: Preparing for the Transition
Join us for a panel discussion on making the leap from an Arena club to a Dedicated Ice club. This session will focus on starting the search, fundraising, and assessing your club's readiness for the necessary growth to make the transition possible. Please use our online form if you’d like to submit questions in advance.
Panelists:
Sandra McMakin: Sandra has a total of 17 years club board experience with four different clubs including the Pittsburgh and Dakota Curling Clubs when they were arena clubs. She was chair of the USA Curling Arena Advisory Board from 2007-2012
Don Piche: Don is the founder of Traverse City Curling Club, which recently opened their DI doors in 2023. Co-founder of “Positive Ice!” a podcast aimed to create a concentrated forum of ideas, opportunities and inspiration for clubs looking to make a bigger impact in their communities through curling
Brad Whitlock: Brad is the President of CurlVegas, a club established in Jan 2020 with the sole purpose to bring a dedicated curling facility to the Las Vegas area. CurlVegas threw their first stones on Dedicated Ice in April, 2024
