[EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, March 28, 2025] — The 2025 Men’s National Champions, led by skip Korey Dropkin, are in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada, ready to take on 12 top international teams at the 2025 World Men’s Curling Championship. The competition, running from March 29th through to April 6th, determines the 2025 World Men’s Curling Champions and is part of the process that determines berths in the 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
Dropkin, supported by teammates Thomas Howell, Andrew Stopera, Mark Fenner and Alternate Chris Plys, will be returning to the world championship for the first time since 2022. In February, the team captured the United States men’s title in Duluth, MN, with a thrilling extra-end victory over Team Casper (Daniel Casper, Luc Violette, Ben Richardson, Aidan Oldenburg, Rich Ruohenen).
For Dropkin and his team, the championship is a fresh opportunity to demonstrate their ability to compete at the highest levels of international play. It also comes at a tense time for relations between the United States and Canada.
In an interview with The Curling News, Howell commented on the fact that his team was unlikely to be a crowd favorite, noting, ““It’s kind of become this thing we accept most times we go to a curling event, whether it be a Slam or Worlds in the U.S.,” said Howell. “It’s mostly Canadian fans. It’s going to be fun. We look forward to the noise and we’re going to use that energy to our advantage.”
“Team Dropkin has been working hard to prepare for the World Championship, and they are entering the event after besting a tough field at the Curling Stadium Martensville International,” noted USA Curling CEO Dean Gemmell. “We're excited to watch them compete against the world’s best.”
Results, statistics, schedules, and standings can be found at the World Curling site. Fans in the United States can watch all the games on The Curling Channel, a subscription service offered by World Curling.
Gemmell added, “I encourage fans of the game to take advantage of The Curling Channel coverage. It’s reasonably priced, and provides a great way to watch Team USA compete at this level.”
