BROOMSTONES TO HOST 2023 JUNIOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

On April 3-8, 2023, Broomstones Curling Club in Wayland, Massachusetts, will welcome the nation’s top U21 curling teams to compete in the 2023 U.S. Junior Curling National Championships.
“Broomstones is delighted to be hosting the 2023 USA Curling Junior National Championships in early April,” said Shelley Dropkin, President of Broomstones Curling Club. “We look forward to welcoming teams from across the country for what will be an exciting week of competition and camaraderie!”
Serving as home to over 400 members, four sheets of ice, a long list of operating esteemed events, and a reputation of fostering and running a distinguished junior curling program, Broomstones Curling Club will undoubtedly be a great host to one of the nation’s top curling events.
Eight junior men’s and eight junior women’s teams will qualify to compete at the home of reputable junior curling development and the largest curling club in the Boston area.
“Broomstones prides itself on its great junior program that has helped in the development of so many current National Team athletes,” said Dick Dawson, 2023 Junior Nationals Event Coordinator for Broomstones. “The club is excited to welcome these great teams, their coaches, and families to Broomstones in April to crown two Junior National Champions!”
The field of 16 total teams will take part in playing not only for the 2023 U.S. Junior Curling National Championship titles, but also the berths to represent the United States at the 2024 World Junior Curling Championships.
The action will begin with pre-event practices on the morning of April 3rd, followed by the first draws of the event that evening, and then extend through to the Championship finals scheduled for April 8th.
To qualify for the 2023 U.S. Junior Curling National Championships, six identified junior bonspiels will be hosted throughout the country, advancing the winners. Additionally, the top two teams on the World Curling Federation’s World Team Rankings as of December 20th, 2022, will punch their tickets to compete at Broomstones in early April.
