MIXED DOUBLES TEAMS ANNOUNCED

USA Curling is excited to announce the remaining three of six mixed doubles teams that will be named to the High Performance Program this upcoming season.

The three teams are:

Leichter/Walker (Alex Leichter and Monica Walker)

Hamilton/Hamilton (Becca Hamilton and Matt Hamilton)

Persinger/Plys (Vicky Persinger and Chris Plys)

These duos were selected to join the High Performance Program due to their demonstration of commitment and success in the field of mixed doubles.

Having won the Madtown DoubleDown event in 2018, the GNCC Mixed Doubles Championship in 2020 and finishing fourth at the 2020 nationals, Leichter/Walker have been a force to be reckoned with on tour.

“I’m very excited to be back playing with Monica again next year as part of the Mixed Doubles National Team,” said Leichter. “We are looking forward to a full season of training with the National Team, playing in tour events and local practice to prepare to make an Olympic run in 2021!”

Persinger/Plys were the winners of the 2018 Twin Ports Mixed Doubles Cashspiel and played in the 2019 Mixed Doubles National Championship final. The team of Hamilton siblings were 2017 national champions, and most recently, the mixed doubles team at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.

USA Curling looks forward to supporting the continued efforts of these teams as they work to build on their achievements from previous seasons.
