Edward C. Ted Childs
Ted Childs has been an active curler and enthusiastic supporter of local, national, and international curling. He curled in the National Championships in 1959, 1960, and 1962 on the Norfolk Curling Club team representing Connecticut. President of the Grand National Curling Clubs from 1966 to 1968, he was made an honorary life member in 1969 and a Patron in 1988.
In 1969-70, he was president of the U.S. Men’s Curling Association, where he served as a director for many years. Ted also is an honorary life member of the Ontario Curling Association and is recognized as a staunch supporter of world curling. He was a co-sponsor of the Ross Tarlton Shield, an annual event between OCA and GNCC. Ted has made substantial contributions in various ways to many curling clubs and truly is a philanthropist in the curling world.
